Known
as Lyndy to friends and family, though always Carolyn at work, I was born in
West Kirby, on the Wirral peninsula of Cheshire in 1950. For
the next 21 years I moved around the Wirral living in Caldy, Meols, Noctorum, West Kirby
and Hoylake, going to school in Birkenhead and University in Liverpool.
57 years later I live with my husband, Colin
(and our cat The Lodger)
in Shropshire, next to the beautiful River Teme
looking across at the Mortimer Forest and Ludlow castle and church.
In the intervening years I have:
-
taught for 5 years (James
Allen's Girls' School, Dulwich and Elmfield Upper School, Bromley)
-
worked in the early days of
Word Processing and the world of PCs
-
founded
and run a successful business for 25 years with offices initially in Sevenoaks,
Kent, then Sevenoaks and London, then London and Maidenhead, then Cookham,
Berkshire, then
Chislehurst, then Seal, then Tonbridge then near Sandwich (all in Kent) and now finally (I
hope!) Ludlow
-
enjoyed Motor Sport (actually doing
it myself) and Cricket (watching only), hated learning to fly though I did get
as far as passing most of the ground school exams and flying solo
-
moved house 17 times mainly
around Kent but also Surrey, Berkshire and Cornwall, recently moved to
Ludlow in
Shropshire
-
been married four times but divorced
only three ....
